Type Diagnosis and Psychological Type Tests

There are any number of type tests you could take, such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, or the Gray-Wheelwright Type Test, and these tests are the result of a great deal of effort, and can actually help you discover your type.

But they can't be a substitute for your own process of type self-discovery. Even if the test you take gives you the correct answer, which it does not always do, what are you going to do with it? It will lie there inertly in front of you, just another lump of undigested information unless you make it come alive, and that involves a considerable amount of time and energy that no one else can supply in your place. Type tests cannot be treated like oracles, or fortune cookies, but they represent one element in your attempt to discover what your own type is and how to develop it.
